Privacy Policy

BillLog ("the App", "we", "our") is a personal bookkeeping application. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App may access, how the data is used, and what choices you have.

1. Data you create in the App

When you use BillLog, you may create or store:

  • Bills, income records, categories, tags, notes, and related bookkeeping content
  • Dashboard and board configuration
  • Optional location data attached to a record
  • Optional import and export files you choose to create or open
  • Optional web access credentials for the built-in local web server
  • Optional subscription status information returned by the App Store

This data is primarily stored on your device.

2. Data access and device permissions

BillLog may request access to the following device capabilities:

  • Face ID / device authentication: used to help protect access to the App
  • Location: used only when you choose to attach location information to a record
  • Local network: used only when you enable the built-in local web server so you can access your data from devices on the same network
  • iCloud / CloudKit: used only when you enable iCloud sync

If you deny a permission, the related feature may be unavailable.

3. How your data is used

We use data only to provide the App's features, including:

  • Recording and organizing bills and income
  • Displaying charts, dashboards, and reports
  • Syncing your data across your devices through iCloud when enabled
  • Exporting and importing your data when you request it
  • Verifying subscription status through Apple's App Store services
  • Protecting access to the App with device authentication

We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

4. iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored and synchronized using Apple's CloudKit / iCloud services and may be transferred to and stored in Apple's infrastructure according to your Apple account settings and Apple's terms.

If you do not enable iCloud sync, your bookkeeping data remains stored locally on your device unless you choose to export it.

5. Local web server

If you enable the built-in web server feature, the App makes selected wallet data available on your local network to devices that can reach your device's local IP address and port.

This feature:

  • Runs only when you enable it
  • Is intended for use on your local network
  • Uses credentials that you set in the App

You are responsible for enabling this feature only in environments you trust.

6. Subscription and payments

Subscriptions and payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details.

The App may access App Store subscription status data necessary to determine whether premium features should be available.

7. Crash and diagnostic information

The App may store limited local crash or diagnostic information on your device to help you review app stability. This information is not used for advertising or third-party tracking.

8. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not share your bookkeeping data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.

Data may be processed by Apple when you use Apple services such as:

  • App Store subscriptions
  • iCloud / CloudKit sync
  • System review prompts

9. Data retention and deletion

You can delete records in the App at any time.

You can also remove exported files from your device and disable iCloud sync or local web access at any time.

If you uninstall the App, locally stored app data may be removed by the operating system. Data stored in iCloud may remain in your iCloud account until removed according to Apple's systems and settings.

10. Children's privacy

BillLog is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law for independent consent in their region.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
